to kick off into the new year, highgrade brings you a new edition of its various artists compilation. this time we focus on two surprising collaborations from the middle of berlins club circuit who seem to follow the same aim with different methods: clique artist daniel.fx joins up with one of highgrades main producers todd bodine for a deadpan minimal house groover, as well as the massive and challenging monster track by guido schneider from pokerflat together with ostgut/panorama barimpresario dj andre galuzzi - a demanding and enthusing track just perfect to bring on the perfect headrush on the legendary ostgut floor as well as everywhere else

a classic bit of space disco from the french scene of the 70s. four long tracks that are all pretty darn moogy, and pretty darn great! the work here would fit nicely with some of the best keyboard heavy club of the us scene at the time! not exactly like some of the work on p&p, or the grooves of el coco over at avi - but not that dissimilar either, and often put together with a spare, simple approach thats a welcome contrast from overblown disco of the time! most numbers build up from a funky bassline and beats - adding in the keyboards with great relish, and really letting them jam and get crazy over the top. theres certainly a bit of cosmic fusion going on here too

phat deep detroitish club tune !! two great tracks by this new german outfit as the rh-ltd series continues! berlin based pied plat started in 2006 as an electroacoustic live project inspired by the house and techno sound from detroit. growing up in karlsruhe, germany, pied plat members know each other since early childhood and still enjoy hanging around together.
